Regeneration with environmental responsibility

Converting historic and traditional buildings to new uses saves resources and improves the urban environment. However, using modern construction methods can damage them, and a good feasibility study is needed to identify the options available and show whether a new use can be reconciled with the building's cultural significance, can be physically accommodated, will not be detrimental to the building fabric, and is economically viable.
