Submitted as part of the Sustainable Development Research Centre's annual conference this paper looks at how various factors, such as age, gender and locality, affect wellbeing.  

The Scottish Government frequently uses quantitative information such as life expectancy to measure wellbeing. However, little work has been done to determine how well these measures correlate to people's perception of their own wellbeing. 

Forward Scotland piloted a street survey in order to see how people rated their own wellbeing and to identify which factors affected it.
