![]() Forward Scotland welcomes the review. As a review of progress it provides useful information from which can serve as a benchmark for the new administration. We strongly advise that the Scottish Government builds on the successes in areas such as waste management and renewable energy. Indeed it could be potentially damaging to lose momentum in these areas. However, it is evident that Scotland is some way off in embracing a culture of sustainable development with a heavy reliance on statutory interventions to make any progress. There is real urgency in identifying a way forward in currently unsuccessful areas and room for innovative ideas if we are to become a leading sustainable region in Europe.
