Forward Scotland's response to the Local Authorities Scotland Advisory Accounting Committee (LASAAC) consultation on its draft Guidance for Practitioners on Accounting for Common Good assets.

Forward Scotland's response to the Scottish Government second consultation on the Disposal of Land by Local Authorities (Scotland) Regulations 200[7]. We would urge that the revised Regulations include a requirement for local authorities to publicise proposals to dispose of land at less than the best consideration that could reasonably be obtained to ensure communities’ ability to acquire assets is not reduced.
Forward Scotland's response to the publication of the Sustainable Development Commission's review of the progress made by the Scottish Executive in implementing the Scottish Sustainable Development Strategy: Choosing our Future.
Forward Scotland's response to the SNH draft Policy Statement on Biomass Energy and the Natural Heritage. We support the statement overall, with our key points focussing mainly on points of clarification and language, as well as providing further information to inform the substance of the document, reduce uncertainty and unnecessary caution and potentially avoid hindering the development of this crucially important industry which can deliver substantial benefits for Scotlands economy and the environment.
Forward Scotland's comments in support of the Energy Saving Trust's proposals for the creation of a Scottish Sustainable Energy Network.
Forward Scotland's response to the consultation by the HM Treasury and Cabinet Officer of the Third Sector on a proposed distribution mechanism for unclaimed assets. We support the proposals overall, but underline the importance of ensuring the mechanism fits with both the UK and Scottish Sustainable Development strategies, and stress that the Scottish Executive should determine the priorities and infrastructure for distributing the funds in Scotland.
Forward Scotland's contribution to the Scottish Parliament Rural Affairs & Environment Committee's call for suggested priority topics for inquiry as part of the committee's work programme. Our suggested topics include local food, waste management, renewables from agricultural surplus and scrutinising the sustainability of legislation.
A response to the draft Statutory Guidance on Planning and Sustainable Development. Forward Scotland is generally supportive of the document, but recommends a greater focus on sustainable development throughout the whole planning process.
A response to the Executive's draft strategy, 'Achieving a Low Carbon Future - A Strategy for Scotland'. Forward Scotland is generally supportive of the proposed actions in the document, but recommends a number of key actions.
