Forward Scotland supported First Group recently at a lunch in Glasgow where a dozen hard working individuals and local groups were recognised for their efforts to enhance railway stations.
Over 70 communities in scotland have built new relationships with their railway stations inspired by the 'Adopt-a-station' programme delivered by First Group operating the Scotrail franchise.
There are quickly becoming a series of creative adoptions in like Neilston and Wemyss Bay. The energy comes from a number of motivated and committed individuals, people like George Evison a compulsive and serial adopter of
stations.
These groups have revitailised the appearance of stations and reconnected their communities to the railway.
